Earth sludge became the source of unpleasant smell in Buinsk

A number of complaints came to the Zavolzhsky territorial department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan about the spread of a specific odour in Buinsk. Specialists of the Inspection of Analytical Control of the Ministry of Ecology took samples of atmospheric air for analyses. As the administrative investigation revealed, the smell came from the north-western part of Buinsk. There the environmentalists discovered an unauthorized placement of earth sludge, covering 375 square meters with the volume 38 cubic meters. According to the preliminary version, it was discharged from the filtration fields of one of the Buinsk enterprises. Samples of contaminated and background soil, and repeated samples of atmospheric air were selected. All the materials on this fact were transferred by the environmentalists to the Buinsk City Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tatarstan to take measures of prosecutorial response to the offender.
