“History of the reserve in people.” This is the name of the exhibition opened today in the Volga-Kama State Reserve. One of the first visitors to the exhibition was the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev. “I have a feeling that I was on an expedition,” the Minister shared his impressions. – Especially valuable is that guides on the exhibition are highly qualified specialists who devoted many years to the study of nature. Valerian Ivanovich Garanin is a living legend. A man who has been engaged all his life in the ecology of animals, herpetology, nature conservation, the history of science. Author and co-author of more than 350 published works. It’s only him who can tell about the history of the reserve n interesting, competent and informative way,” – said the Minister of Ecology. Thanks to reserves, natural resources are preserved in a natural, unchanged form, the head of the Ministry of Ecology of RT stressed. Success in the restoration of number and the expansion of the range of many animals that in the recent past have been on the verge of total destruction is achieved due such specially protected areas. Reserves are the highest form of nature conservation.
Yury Gorshkov, the director of the protected territory, told about the history of the reserves to the guests of the event. He showed participants unique exhibits, historical documents and archival photographs revealing the periods of the reserve development.
The exhibition runs daily except Mondays and Thursdays from 10.00 to 16.00. The exposition is presented in the Visit Center of the Volga-Kama State Nature Reserve at the address: Zelenodolsky district, village Sadovyi, Vekhova str. 1
