"Black diggers" inflicted the damage on nature under cover of darkness Illegal sand extraction will lead to criminal liability

The damage inflicted on the environment in Petretsy district of Tatarstan amounts to millions of rubles, as it was estimated by ecological specialists. The punishment for grand theft is envisaged according to Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.  Preliminarily, the damage amounted to more than 8 million rubles. A report on illegal extraction of common mineral resources near Togashevo village of Pestretsy district was received on May 8th at 7 pm through the hot line of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Experts of the State Inspection for Ecological Surveillance and the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with experts of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Pestretsy District of the Republic of Tatarstan went to the site to confirm the fact of illegal quarry development. An excavator and a dump truck were caught "red handed". An administrative protocol was drawn up according to Article 7.3 part 1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "The use of mineral resources without a license to use the mineral resources".

Considering the signs of criminal liability, according to Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the machinery is retained at the parking lot of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Pestretsy District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
