Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology prevented illegal extraction of mineral resources

Today, inspectors of the State Ecological Surveillance under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a raid to Vysokaya Gora district of Tatarstan in compliance with address of citizens to the Ministry’s hotline. The fact of illegal quarry development, namely peat, was revealed in the course of the raid near Staraya Tura village. The mineral resources were used without an appropriate license. Upon arrival to the site, inspectors found 6 KAMAZ trucks loaded with peat, two motor vehicles and an excavator. Together with fellow workers of the Prosecutor’s Office of Vysokaya Gora district and specialists of the Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Vysokaya Gora district, they apprehended offenders involved in this violation, and the latter gave their explanations. Photo and video materials were drawn up, and at present the work on identification of owners of the above indicated equipment is carried out. Ecological specialists will estimate the damage inflicted on the environment.
