Rustam Minnikhanov: "In many respects the ecological consciousness of the future generation is laid starting from the school bench." Tatarstan gives a new impetus to the development of ecological education

 "Ecology is not a compulsory subject in the system of general education and is studied optional. Life shows, that this is not enough. Therefore, today the Republic by the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Support of the Ministry of Education and Science gives a new impetus to the development of environmental education, "- said the Deputy Director of the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil use of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Dmitry Ivanov, today at the expanded meeting of the joint Final Board of the Ministry of Ecology and natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Department of the Federal Service for environmental supervision in the Republic of Tatarstan "On the results of work in 2017 and tasks for 2018".  "One of the best ecological educational clusters in the country was established in the republic", - he noted. To prove it, in particular, the maximum number of awards won by schoolchildren of Tatarstan in the All Russia Olympiads on ecology (in 2016 - 16 winners and prize - winners, in 2017 - 22). "Now many schools are under construction,"- Ivanov stressed the need to foresee the specialized premises or even buildings for practical activities in the projects: laboratories, greenhouses, aquariums.
