The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting of the expert commission of the state ecological expertise, where they discussed the limit of hunting resources extraction on the territory of Tatarstan for the period from August 1, 2022 to August 1, 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Volga-Kama Biosphere Reserve, the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil Use Problems and the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources. Also, the meeting was joined by employees of the Executive Committees of the District of the Republic of Tatarstan via videoconference.

The experts got acquainted with the materials presented, discussed a number of issues related to the existing methods of accounting for the number, determining the migration paths of animals. Information on the results of the review of the project materials will be posted on the Ministry's website (https://eco.tatarstan.ru/rezultati-gosudarstvennoy-ekologicheskoy.htm ) after the completion of the state environmental assessment.

Limits and quotas for the extraction of hunting resources (elk, Siberian roe deer, lynx, badger) are approved annually, which allows the use of hunting resources without causing damage to the reproduction of populations. A distinctive feature of the new project is that for the first time the results of counting the number of red deer are included in the project materials. In addition, since this year, updated methods of accounting for the number of hunting resources have been applied – methods of winter route census, aerial count.
