Tatarstan is the winner of the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia"!
Today, on the eve of the Volunteer Day, which is celebrated on December 5, the results of the All-Russian campaign on cleaning the shores of "Water of Russia" within the framework of the national project "Ecology" (federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies") were summed up. According to the results of 2021, Tatarstan took 1st place. More than 276 thousand Tatarstan citizens took part in large-scale measures to clean up coastal territories. 10 thousand km of coastlines were cleared; 37.6 thousand cubic meters of garbage were collected.
In total, 1.141.963 residents of Russia participated in the campaign this season, and this is a new record for the time that the project is underway, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
"Our environmental campaigns gather more and more caring people every year. It is important that young people are increasingly coming and offering their help. Therefore, we will continue to support such initiatives, we will try to create new platforms where they will be able to apply their skills and knowledge and make the planet better," said Alexander Kozlov, head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
"We are very pleased with this news and grateful to everyone who supported us, who devoted their weekend to the general cleaning of the banks of our rivers and lakes. So this victory is the victory of every Tatarstan citizen!", - said the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov and thanked the organizers of the campaign "Water of Russia" for the comprehensive support and professional conduct of all events.
The head of the Federal Agency of Water Resources Dmitry Kirilov, speaking about the results of the campaign, summarized:
"Critical situations teach you to quickly find a common language. But with millions of participants of the campaign, we managed to find it without waiting for a crisis point. Efforts in a large-scale multi-layered task - to save the main resource - are united. I am sure that not every volunteer realizes that he personally participates in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Water areas are becoming cleaner. And the attitude to water is fairer. Vital today, tomorrow it will be even more needed: affordable, safe. Everyone understands this today"
"Preserving nature is our common cause, and the participation of each of us and goodwill in this is priceless.. Through our campaigns, we try to form a culture of respect for nature and water bodies, to make it fashionable," said Ilya Razbash, the chief ideologist of the campaign "Water of Russia", director of the FSBI "Center for the Development of Water industry".
Let us recall that the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan has been participating in the All-Russian campaign since 2019. According to the results of 3 years, more than 430 thousand Tatarstan citizens took part in it, that is, every 9 residents of the republic went out on clean-ups. This year, if we talk about the whole of Russia, one third of the participants of the campaign are Tatarstan citizens.
The organizers of the campaign are the Center for the Development of the Water Management Complex of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Rosvodresurs within the framework of the national project "Ecology" of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies". The All-Russian environmental campaign "Water of Russia" has been held since 2014 and is one of the largest and most popular eco-volunteer campaigns in Russia.
