Shore protection near the Bolshoye Goluboye (Big Blue) Lake at Aviastroitelny district of Kazan City

Press-conference “On shore protection near the Bolshoye Goluboye (Big Blue) Lake at Aviastroitelny district of Kazan City” was held at the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communication “Tatmedia”.

First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Kharis Musin, Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Kalayda, Acting Deputy Minister for Investment and Innovation Activities of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Bakaev, Head of the Central Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilkham Sabirov, Deputy Director of the State Budgetary Institution “Institute for Problems of Natural Resources Use and Ecology” of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Ivanov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the department of engineering ecology and rational use of natural resources of the Kazan State Energetic University Rosa Dyganova, Chief Hydrogeologist of the State Unitary Enterprise “NPO Geocenter” Stanislav Polyakov, Director of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Shiller, as well as citizens of villages near the Bolshoye Goluboye (Big Blue) Lake at Aviastroitelny district of Kazan City.
On December 6, 2012, at School No. 147 of Kadyshevo village, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Administration of Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts of Kazan City held the meeting with the population of Kadyshevo, Shcherbakovo and Goluboye ozero (Blue Lake) settlements. The population took a favorable view of the activities on land improvement near the Big Blue Lake.
In order to determine the necessity, scientific validity and acceptability of shore protection near the Big Blue Lake the overall assessment of shore protection works near the Big Blue Lake was made by the Expert Commission at the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Commission consisted of the following members: Stanislav Polyakov, Chief Hydrogeologist of the State Unitary Enterprise “NPO Geocentre RT”; Rosa Dyganova, Doctor of biological sciences, Professor, Head of Engineering Ecology and Rational Environmental Management Department of the Kazan State Power Engineering University; Dmitry Ivanov, Deputy Director of State Budgetary Institution “Institute of Environmental and Subsurface Management Issues” under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Commission made a conclusion that carried-out activities were of great environmental value, they were scientifically valid and directed on conservation of the state nature reserve “Blue Lakes”.
Besides presentations and cartographical schemes, at the conference journalists were provided with video information concerning divers of Regional office of the All-Russian public organization of the Russian geographical society in the Republic of Tatarstan’s immersion into the Big Blue Lake with the participation of the First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov. The results confirmed that transparency, turbidity, and water color index of the Big Blue Lake didn't change after the beginning of construction works.
For the purpose of water quality control specialists of the Ministry are constantly running sample checking. The comparative analysis of water quality of the Big Blue Lake and Small Blue Lakes revealed that water quality was identical and corresponded to necessary standards.
The population of the Blue Lake settlement, representatives of scientific community and Regional office of the All-Russian public organization of the Russian geographical society in the Republic of Tatarstan supported implementation of this project, and outspoke a number of suggestions which would be considered while this territory improvement.
Trees and bushes planting is planned for the spring and summer period. The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Executive Committee will be involved into this work. All volunteers, representatives of population of nearby settlements and representatives of public ecological organizations are invited to take part in the campaign. The exact date of the campaign carrying out will be reported on the web-site of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In order to inform general public on the results of the carried-out shore protection works near the Big Blue Lake the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan plans to organize an exit press raid on December 27, 2012. All interested parties are invited to take part in the event.
