10 January 2018, Wednesday

The untreated wastewaters of the branch of the OJSC "TGC-16" - "Kazan CHPP-3" entered into the Kazanka River. Excess sulfates, ion phosphates, petroleum products, phenol and other contaminants were detected by the inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan during the joint raid with representatives of the Kazan Inter-District Environmental Prosecutor's Office. The instrumental sampling of wastewaters coming from the enterprise was made.

In order to avoid the repeated violation, the enterprise developed and approved the "Plan of environmental measures for rational use of water resources and protection of water facilities" with Nizhne Volga Basin Water Administration for  the Republic of Tatarstan, one of the main points of which is the construction of sewage treatment plants for thawed and industrial drains. As of today th following facilities have been installed: sewage pump station, coalescing-sorption block, flotation installation UPFR-100, which allowed to exclude the ingress of contaminated waste waters into the Kazanka River. Also, a complex, allowing to reduce water consumption by returning purified water in the production cycle of the station, will be launched this year.
