Environmental activists awarded in Menzelinsk

2 thousand square meters of cleaned territory and more than 3 thousand green spaces. In Menzelinsk were identified the most active nature defenders. Representatives of general educational institutions and social movements, enterprises and organizations of the district gathered at the solemn event, organized by the Prikamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in conjunction with the Executive Committee of the Menzelinsk Municipal District and the multi-disciplinary youth center "Vesta". It was their contribution to the organization and holding of environmental actions, environmental education of the district's population that was recognized as the most significant in the framework of the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces. During the year, 56 cleanups were held on the territory of the district, 300 cubic meters of garbage were collected. People of Menzelinsk acted as active participants in republican competitions and projects, among them "School Eco Patrol", "Clean Shores", "Springs of Tatarstan". The specialists of the Ministry of Ecology appreciated the work of educational institutions: "Teachers pay much attention to the ecological education of schoolchildren. Clean-ups are held in the school territories, environmental actions are organized, regular meetings with scientists and environmentalists". At the end of the year the most active citizens and organizations were awarded with diplomas and letters of thanks for high results in the environment protection.
