Republican contest “Ecology of native land” started In Tatarstan

The regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan launched the national contest “Ecology of native land”.
The contest is aimed at attracting the attention of the public and the young generation of RT to solving environmental issues of their native land. To participate, it is necessary to prepare and implement the project in the territory of the republic before September 10 of this year in one of the directions:
• environmental campaigns for the cleaning of territories;
• improvement of natural and other territories;
• scientific research projects/ecological expeditions;
• ecological and educational projects.

The contest is held in three stages, the winner of which receives the main prize, an excursion to the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Y.A. Gagarin (Moscow). Terms of the contest:
• 1st stage – from May 1 to September 10, 2017, participants send projects to the e-mail address of the Contest Organizer rgo.tatarstan@mail.ru. Each project is assigned with an individual registration number.
• Stage 2 – from September 11 to September 15, 2017, the expert jury evaluates the projects and form “List of finalists”, which will include 6 best projects.
• Stage 3 – from September 25 to September 27, 2017, the teams included in the “List of finalists” are invited to the full-time stage for presentation of the project to the jury members and participation in master classes with famous travelers and researchers of the Russian Geographical Society.
Groups of up to 4 people can participate in the contest: students and teachers of educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan (schools, colleges, schools, organizations of profile education). If members of the group are minors, the group should be headed by the teacher of the educational institution.

To participate, the applicant must complete the project in accordance with the following requirements:

1. Information report - description of the implemented project. Includes:

• the author’s name of the environmental project;
• name of the locality (district)
• location of the project;
• rationale for choosing the venue;
• date of commencement of the project;
• description of the stages of the research/project implementation;
• relevance of the project;
• description of the project outcome;
• prospects for the project development;
• format: word (* .doc)
• file name: “application registration number” _”project name”_”command name”.doc
• A printed version of the report with signatures of the participants for the teams included in the "Finalists List" is also required.

2. Photos – illustrations of the events implemented 
• format: gif, jpeg, jpg;
• resolution: 200-300 dpi;
• file size: at least 0.5 MB and not more than 3 MB;
• photos should not be published anywhere else;
• if a person’s image is shown on the photo submitted for participation in the contest, the contest participant must obtain consent for the disclosure and other use of the person’s image.

3. Video recording – video illustrations of the events implemented 
• format: AVI, MKV, MOV, MP4;
• file size: not more than 100 MB,
• duration: not more than 15 minutes.
• If people are shown on the video recording submitted for participation in the contest, the contest participant must obtain consent to the publication of this video.

Projects should be emailed before September 10 to the regional office of the Russian Geographical Society Rgo.tatarstan@mail.ru.
The finalists will take part in master classes with famous travelers and researchers of the Russian Geographical Society. The teams taking the second and third places will receive a trial scuba dive in the international CMAS system.
