Thousands of Tatarstanians went out to cleanups past weekend

Cleanups were held in all cities and districts of Tatarstan last weekend. More than 20 thousand people came out to clean up the territories. Recall, a sanitary-ecological two-month was launched on April 1 in the republic. “ECO-spring is a period when everyone joins the team of nature guards, regardless of age and position. And it’s not only cleanups on Wednesdays and Saturdays, not only garbage collection, it’s all sorts of flash mobs, tree planting events, making nest boxes and feeders, conducting environmental lessons, picking up trash and sorting garbage, up to writing poems and songs”, said Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev. According to him, within the framework of the action # ECOvesna2017 winners in the following nominations will be called:
“Eco-school”; “Eco-family”; “Eco-enterprise"; “Eco-university”; “Eco-kindergarden” (for kindergartens); “Eco-community” (for public environmental organizations, associations); “Eco-centre” (for urban children’s ecological and biological centers).
Recall, past year for the first time in the history of the Ministry of Ecology more than a million Tatarstanians took part in the cleanup actions. About 450 thousand cubic meters of waste were transported to the landfills, and more than 600 thousand trees and shrubs were planted.
