25-26 May in St. Petersburg will be held VIII Nevsky International Ecological Congress. The main goal - to develop an extensive debate, exchange information and experience on the formation of environmental education as an environmental collateral security, the preservation of public health, the implementation of successful strategies and programs for improving the waste management system, the introduction of best available technologies.

In the Year of Ecology at the Congress a lot of attention will be paid to the improvement of legislation in the field of specially protected natural areas, maintenance of biological diversity. In the discussion platform will focus on environmental protection and natural resources, strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation on issues of harmonization of environmental legislation. The business part of the program of plenary sessions and thematic round tables where critical issues to discuss heads of legislative and executive bodies of state power, representatives of international organizations, business, educational and research institutions, media, associations of states - participants Commonwealth of Independent states and other countries. As a result of the discussions will be formed proposals to improve the legislation aimed at further development of environmental education, strengthening of inter-regional and cross-border cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States. In case the shares, trips Protected Areas will be held during the congress.

Event is organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of States: CIS member states, the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
