Shores of more than 800 water bodies of Tatarstan were cleaned within the framework of the nature protection campaign

Shores of more than 800 water bodies of Tatarstan were cleaned within the framework of the "Clean shore" campaign that was held in the Republic during the Year of water protection areas. More than 50 thousand of citizens of Tatarstan took part in the activities on cleaning of the coastal areas. Water protection areas of rivers, lakes and ponds were cleaned from litter, and high grass was cut. A total of 2,350 cubic meters of waste were collected during the decade that was held on July 13-23.  The campaign was held at every municipal unit of the Republic. It united representatives of municipal authorities, local authorities, active participants of voluntary and public organizations, students' and pupils' groups, as well as fellow workers of various structures and authorities and just anyone who cared. The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The campaign aimed at sanitary cleaning of the shores of water bodies and maintenance of such order, as well as promotion of public activity and careful attitude of citizens to nature.
