Start with yourself - plant a tree: on the International Day of Ecological Education ecological specialists, pupils and teachers participated in beautification of the territory of a school in Kazan

The events devoted to the International Day of Ecological Education were held today in the Republic of Tatarstan.On the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and under the aegis of the Institute for Problems of Natural Resources Use and Ecology under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, a practical nature protection campaign on beautification of the recreation green zone was arranged for senior pupils on the territory of a specialized school No. 90 of Kazan. The event started with a welcoming word of the Head of Department for Ecological Education and Interaction with Public Organizations under the Ministry of Ecology, Damir Valiullin. He acknowledged that various ecological campaigns both of educational and practical nature are held on this day:  exhibitions, conferences and contests, as well as nature protection campaigns on cleaning of parks and landscaping of territories are held to foster careful attitude in children to the nature of the motherland, to form ecology-oriented mindset, and to support the development of the system for continuous ecological education and enlightenment in the Republic of Tatarstan. 

Seedlings of pines to be planted on the territory of School No. 90 were provided by Matyushinsky basic forest nursery of the scientific and experimental Prigorodny forestry enterprise. "In such a way, we made small contribution into the city ecology, we beautified the school territory and provided the children with a chance to plant their own trees to be able to further nurture them", acknowledged teachers of the educational institution. The children believe that the planted parkway is their present to the school so that they would always be remembered.  Moreover, in the framework of the International Day of Ecological Education, the tree planting campaign was also held on the territory of the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution "Specialized School No. 5" and the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 86".
