Scientificandartisticexpedition “Volga” arrivedin Tatarstan

TheScientificandartisticexpedition “Volga”arrived today in the Republic of Tatarstan. Itincludesleadingnaturalphotographs, cameramen, urban specialists and culture experts who carry outcontinuous photo and video registration of both shores of the Volga River from its head to mouth.The delegation also includes ecological specialists who make analyses to estimate water quality. The work of the eco-analytical vessel “Flamingo” of the Central specialized inspection of analytical control under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan was demonstrated to the delegation — it is equipped with a system of immersion sensors that ensure continuous measurement of the main physical and chemical parameters of water. The equipment allows to process analysis in the online mode. The results showed that water quality in the Volga River corresponds with the requirements. Members of the expedition familiarized with sights of the cities of Tatarstan. Moreover, a round table was held in Kazan with participation of representatives of ministries and authorities of the Republic, architects, and specialists in the field of tourism development.

Participants of the expedition have already visited Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, Kozmodemyansk, Sviyazhsk and Kazan.Allinall, thegroupplansonvisiting8 constituent entities of the Russian Federation where the Volga flows in order to create the state-of-art audio and visual installation “Volga”. Thematerialswillbepresentedatthe 3rdAll-RussianFestival “Primeval Russia”, the main topic whereof will feature the Volga River. In January-February 2016, the exhibition will be held at the central house of the artist in Moscow, and then it is planned tocarry outexhibition arrangement in regional centers located on the Volga shores. The expedition is designed to last for 3 years, and in 2016 the route will cover the territory from Tver to Nizhny Novgorod.

TheAll-RussianFestival “PrimevalRussia” is a large-scale cultural, enlightenment and exhibition project that is held on the annual basis by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The Festival is aimed at preservation of natural and cultural heritage of Russia, popularization of natural photography and documental films, as well as development of ecological and ethnic tourism.
