Winners of “ECOLeader” and “Man and Nature” contests were rewarded at “Korston” Cultural and Entertainment Complex

The award ceremony of the winners of “ECOLeader” and “Man and Nature” republican contests took place today at “Korston” Cultural and Entertainment Complex. The Prime Minister for the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Halikov, the Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan for Economics, Investments and Entrepreneurship Marat Galeev, the Сhairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan for Ecology, Environmental Management and Agrarian Issues Valery Vasilyev, the Vice-Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Rimma Ratnikova, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Ahmetov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, the Head of the All-Russian Social Children Ecological Movement “The Green planet” (Moscow) Marina Medvedeva and others took part in the ceremony.
The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov opened the awards ceremony. In his welcoming speech he pointed out the importance of “ECOLeader” and “Man and Nature” contests. According to him, they create atmosphere of healthy competition in achievement of the best results in the solution of actual environmental problems, which makes a real contribution to practical accomplishment of the task set by the President and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan for the entities of the Republic of Tatarstan to upgrade production and to implement the best nature protection technologies.
The Prime Minister for the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Halikov thanked all those who closely address ecology issues on a daily basis. He pointed out that the leading companies pay special attention to ecology issues not because of legal obligations, but because of their civic-mindedness.
Ildar Halikov handed awards to the winners of the contest among the enterprises of the All-Russian value. OAO TATNEFT became an absolute winner of the contest following the results of 2011. Factory named after Sergo production enterprise (Zelenodolsk), KAMAZ, Mayskiy Greenhouse Center, and “Urussinsk State District Power Station” Territorial Generating Company were awarded, too.
Naberezhnye Chelny City municipality and Almetyevsk municipal area became winners in the nominations “For achievements in the field of environmental protection on the territory of the city of republican value” and “For achievements in the field of environmental protection on the territory of the municipal area”.
Those leading education institutions, institutions of social sphere and health care, public organizations, and associations that make an invaluable contribution to environmental protection, ecological safety, and rational environmental management of the Republic of Tatarstan, also got their awards.
Up-to-datedness, integrated approach and importance of tasks solution in the sphere of environmental protection and rational environmental management as well as approaches implemented for their solution in practice, an innovative approach to the problem solution, originality of the idea; clarity of the description of implementation results were main assessment criteria for the materials provided to “ECOLeader” contest.
The most involved citizens, who actively participated in National Monitoring Project, were also honored with special diplomas at the ceremony.
Within the framework of “Man and Nature” contest there were 5 nominations: “Best TV Spot”, “Best Publication in Periodic Printed Press”, “Best Radio Spot”, “Best Electronic Material”, and “Best Filmwork”. The best representatives of mass media, who actively, essentially and objectively give coverage to nature protection activities, to the solution of the most topical environmental problems, and who make their contribution to the development of the system of ecological education of our republic population, were also honored with awards.
Up-to-datedness of a subject matter choice, author’s line item, educational and public value, novelty, brightness, and originality of the material form were the main criteria for materials assessment.
