Ambient air monitoring in Kazan City

Today, representatives of mass media participated in one of the ordinary raids of the Central Specialized Inspection for Analytical Monitoring of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan aimed at ambient air monitoring around industrial plants of Kazan City using Ford-based mobile measuring station for ecological and analytical control.
During the raid, mobile laboratory for ecological control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took air samples in Lebedeva street in the area of location of “DorStroyKazan” LLC, as well as in Magistralnaya and Yuzhno-promyshlennaya streets in the area of activity of a road-building company “Aynur” LLC and “CentrCement” LLC.
According to Inspector of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Aliya Galeeva, should the admissible concentration of pollutants in the ambient air be exceeded, administrative measures will be applied to the offenders.
Inspections that were carried out by the Ministry revealed that a number of Kazan asphalt concrete mixing plants default air protection legislation: they don't run process emission control; they violate operating requirements of dust and gas purifying installations; enterprises discharge emissions exceeding the established standards or without having permission to discharge harmful substances into the atmosphere. These violations are classified under article 8.21 of the Code on Administrative Violations, providing 40 to 50 thousand rubles penalty or an enterprise activity suspension for the term up to 90 days.
Mobile laboratory of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan available in Kazan City makes it possible to quickly analyze whether admissible pollutants concentration is observed beyond sanitary and protective zones of enterprises. In total there are 3 mobile and 13 stationary measuring stations for ecological and analytical monitoring in the Republic of Tatarstan.
